Living in the Thuringian Holzland

Hermsdorf

Hermsdorf, the little town situated almost 30 km to the east of Jena, has been an important place since the Middle Ages. The town centre with its attractive half-timbered houses still recalls this period today.

However, this place located in the Thuringian Holzland region with its approximately 8,000 inhabitants has plenty more to offer: for example, a mature infrastructure with cafes, childcare centres, schools and shopping facilities and varied leisure facilities for young and old. Children and young people can let off steam in the outdoor swimming pool, at the skateboard park or on the three football pitches. For schoolchildren and sports club members, there is an ultra-modern athletics track and a three-pitch sports hall available.

The Hermsdorf residents are particularly proud of its charming, scenic location between vast forests and deep valleys spanned by spectacular bridges. The most well-known example of this is the Teufelstalbrücke in the Zeitzgrund nature reserve. The region’s many hiking and biking routes invite you to enjoy active leisure pursuits and a comfortable stop-off at one of the guesthouses which have been converted from historic mills.

Eco-friendly living

In Hermsdorf, a modern apartment building with 24 partly barrier-free living units has been created in a solid-wood construction. Contemporary architecture, functionality and comfort are very successfully combined here. Along with the comfort of our tenants, eco-friendly construction, climate protection and sustainability are strong focal points.

The building located on the street named ‘Am alten Versuchsfeld’ offers 2 to 4 room apartments with living areas ranging from 46 m² to 87 m²2. Families and couples as well as older tenants with limited mobility will feel at home here with the high standard of living. The attractively designed green areas with sitting area and children’s playground are intended as meeting points for people of all ages.
